About me

I am a pop/jazz singing teacher and singer. In addition to pop/jazz singing, I teach instrument pedagogy at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and I am the teacher responsible for independent pedagogical training. In the academic year 2024-2025, I will also teach the implementation of the Entrepreneurship study course for music pedagogy students. 

I have studied as a musician at the Conservatory of Kainuu Vocational College, as a music pedagogue at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, and most recently, I studied the Master's degree programme in music pedagogy along with my work, also at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. In addition to these, I have graduated from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences' business administration program (finance, administration and marketing). 

My path to music has progressed along its own unique path from hobbyist to professional. Due to health challenges, or actually thanks to them, the role of music in my life grew so significantly that I left my previous career and started to direct my choices towards the work of a singer and singing teacher. When living with chronic illnesses the most important thing I can do is to have a positive and solution-oriented attitude. Due to my own experiences as a singer and singing teacher, the ergonomics of singing is very important to me, because our voice is our tool. By taking care of it and using our body as an instrument consciously, we can do anything with our voice in a healthy and safe way!

As a musician, I have the most gigging experience as a soloist of party bands, pop/rock and hard rock ensembles, but I have sung a wide variety of different music styles. My heart beats for all music these days; jazz, world music, pop music, musicals, soul, etc. You name it, I love it! In the same way that I have performed at rock festivals and used a rough voice, I have also been a finalist in the Tangomarkkinat, singing with a beautiful and rich voice. Versatility is really important to me, so that I can perform different styles of songs with my own voice, but at the same time remain faithful to each style of music.
